Thermoelectric Cooler (TEC) is a semiconductor device consisting of many small and effective heat pumps. By applying a low-voltage DC power source, the heat will be moved through the module from one side to the other. One module face, therefore, will be cooled while the opposite face simultaneously is heated. After more than 26 years of R&D and production, Ferrotec (China) has continuously updated and iterated thermoelectric products, providing a comprehensive solution for all occasions requiring precise temperature control.
Classification of Thermoelectric Coolers
Ferrotec (China) has developed thermo electric devices for various applications according to different market demands. Normally, standard series products can be directly selected, but under certain given conditions, special design of thermoelectric cooler is needed to meet the requirements of cooling capacity, electrical, mechanical and other aspects.
Miniature Module
Miniature Module
Miniature Modules are suitable for all kinds of low power cooling or heating occasions, typically used for cooling laser diodes, infrared devices, optical device, electronic equipment and other low power devices. The substrates of standard products are metalized.
Single/Multi-hole Module
Single/Multi-hole Module
Single-hole modules are suitable for medium cooling capacity applications, typically used in industries, electrical equipment, laboratories and optoelectronic equipment and other fields. The height tolerance of the standard product is 0.025 mm.
Multi-hole modules are specially designed for 5.66mm TO-CAN laser diodes. As the contact surface between the cooler and the laser diode is enlarged, it can achieve the target temperature faster, and the temperature is more uniform. Optimized contact surface design makes the performance of laser diode more stable. The products of this series are suitable for laser diodes of ф3.5-9.0.

Single/Multi-stage Module
Single/Multi-stage Module
Single-stage modules are suitable for occasions with high cooling capacity and high efficiency requirements, and are widely used in industrial and laboratory equipment. Standard modules have a high accuracy of (±0.025). 20 series modules can be configured according to customer requirements.
Multi-stage modules are designed for significant high temperature difference applications, suitable for occasions requiring small and medium cooling capacity and large temperature difference. Typical applications include I-R detection, CCD and optoelectronics. The design of different stacking modes can meet the requirement of deep cooling. Such modules can achieve a greater temperature difference than standard single-stage modules.

High power TE modules are designed to maximize cooling capacity. Because of the high-density semiconductor device arrangement, it can obtain greater cooling capacity and efficiency under the same substrate size. This characteristic of high cooling density can make the heat exchanger smaller and more effective.

RTV Silicone Sealed Module
RTV Silicone Sealed Module
It can effectively prevent the condensation of coolers when they are running below the dew point temperature. If humidity exists in modules for a long time, its performance will be degraded. RTV silicone is flexible after sealing and can be maintained for a long time, which is especially suitable for severe thermal cycling conditions. The environmental temperature is -60℃~+200℃ for effective use of RTV silicone sealed module.
Epoxy Sealed Module
Epoxy Sealed Module
Epoxy resin is used for TEM sealing protection in high temperature environment. Although RTV silicone seals already have moisture-proof function, epoxy resin seals can provide better sealing protection under some conditions where the moisture-proof requirements are very strict. The sealing resin of Ferrotec module not only has a strong bonding force with the base plate, but also maintains a good elasticity after curing. The resistivity of this resin is very high within mega-ohm range. The maximum temperature of epoxy sealed module is recommended to be 80 C.
