On December 28, Hangzhou Semiconductor Wafer Co.,Ltd. ushered in a historic day: the first 12 inch epitaxial wafer was successfully rolled off the production line in the 12 inch production workshop, officials said. According to the official, the production of 12 inch epitaxial wafers is an important bottleneck restricting the development of China's IC industry. Since the first 12-inch polished wafer came off the production line at the end of December 2019, the first 12-inch epitaxial wafer went off the production line smoothly after 12 months of R & D and production, which not only marks the further improvement of Hangzhou Semiconductor Wafer Co.,Ltd.‘s production technology, but also marks a new milestone for the development of domestic integrated circuit industry, and also means that Zhongxin wafer is widely used in domestic semiconductor epitaxial wafer industry The production field has been in a leading position.
2. The 12 inch production line is the first to achieve mass production
The 12 inch monocrystalline silicon rods and wafers of Hangzhou Semiconductor Wafer Co.,Ltd. made their debut at the semiconductor industry event semichina in July this year.
According to public information, Hangzhou Semiconductor Wafer Co.,Ltd. was established in 2017 as a joint venture of Ferrotec holdings, Hangzhou Dahe Thermo-Magnetics Co.,Ltd. and Shanghai Shenhe Thermo-Magnetics Electronics Co.,Ltd. With a total investment of 6 billion yuan, the company is mainly engaged in the R & D and manufacturing of semiconductor silicon wafers for high-quality integrated circuits. The company has introduced a team of foreign semiconductor management and technology experts, with a total of about 600 employees, and has passed the certification of iatf16949:2016, ISO14001, iso45001 and other systems. It is a high-tech enterprise in Zhejiang Province, with three 8-inch and two 12 inch semiconductor wafer production lines, of which the 8-inch production line is the largest and most mature production line in China at present, and the 12 inch production line is the most mature production line in China China's first semiconductor wafer production line with core technology and real mass production.
3. It is expected to produce 2.4 million pieces per year in 2021
In February 2018, The large silicon project of Hangzhou Semiconductor Wafer Co.,Ltd. started construction. On June 30, 2019, the first batch of 8-inch (200 mm) semiconductor silicon polished wafers of Hangzhou Semiconductor Wafer Co.,Ltd. was successfully put off the production line. On August 23, the first 12 inch process equipment was moved in. At present, the 12 inch (300 mm) silicon wafer production line is being debugged.
According to the plan,Hangzhou Semiconductor Wafer Co.,Ltd. has a monthly production capacity of 100000 pieces of 8-inch silicon wafers, and 12 inch wafers will enter mass production early next year. After the 12 inch semiconductor wafer production line is put into production, the monthly production capacity will reach 30000 pieces, and the expansion of 200000 pieces production line will be started timely. It is estimated that the annual production capacity will reach 2.4 million pieces in 2021, which will greatly alleviate the shortage of semiconductor wafer supply in China.
